Avoca, PA – Carl R. Beardsley, Jr. Executive Director, announced that the Kellogg Fire Training Simulator returns to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport for three days of Intensive Firefighter training, on May 18-20, 2017.
For the 14th year, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport offers this course to our Airport employees and other regional Airports, as well as our area Volunteer Fire Companies that will be called to assist at the Airport in case of an aircraft emergency.
“In addition to being used to continually educate our own ARFF Personnel, this course gives us an opportunity to allow our mutual aid fire personnel to work with our ARFF staff on an actual Aircraft simulator.”
“This unit actually burns and the fire personnel work in an active fire environment. They also receive very intense classroom instruction.”
– George Bieber, AVP Director – Public Safety
Participants this year include representatives from: Greater Binghamton Airport, Lehigh Valley International Airport, Lockheed Martin, Reading Regional Airport, Trenton-Mercer Airport, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport and Williamsport Regional Airport.
